Cycling through Taranto, you will get to know and explore the main historical sites of the city of the two seas.

From Piazza Castello, where the Taranto fortress known as Sant’Angelo stands, you will walk towards the ruins of the Temple of Poseidon from the 6th century BC, flanked by two Doric columns that testify to the important past of the Apulian town.
You will cross the bridge which, with its 90 meters in length, crosses a 400 meter long navigable canal, joining the Mar Grande to the Mar Piccolo. From this panoramic point you can take wonderful photos!
Next, you will cycle in the direction of Martina Franca.

Martina Franca is one of the centers of the Itria valley famous for its events and the baroque. The itinerary takes place among the characteristic alleys that lead to Piazza del Plebiscito where the Baroque Basilica dedicated to San Martino, the Clock Tower and the University Palace overlook; crossing Porta Santo Stefano instead you reach Piazza Roma where you can admire the Palazzo Ducale with its particular eighteenth-century frescoes and the noble rooms. You will see the Ducal Palace, the Basilica of San Martino, Porta Santo Stefano which gives access to the historic center with its noble residences with baroque portals and suggestive squares.

After visiting the historic center of Martina Franca, traveling along rural roads you will reach a splendid Masseria a few km from Monopoli. In the strip of land on the border between the provinces of Bari and Brindisi, the green of the olive trees interrupts to reveal a treasure of Puglia, a village of peasant life, in symbiosis with nature and respecting traditions. Starting from the 16th century, the territory between Fasano, Monopoli and Ostuni welcomed numerous farm buildings, characteristic defensive and agricultural defense structures of the countryside, around which the economic and social life of the time took place.

When the desire to taste is now pressing, the sommelier will offer you three qualities of wine: the Susumaniello red, a white and a rosé, all organically produced. To complete the experience lived together, a local aperitif (chickpeas, fried broad beans, olives, friselle, cherry tomatoes, almonds, taralli and focaccia) will unite souls in an embrace of the flavor of Puglia.
